Come join us for the unique KLARINETISSIMO –  a clarinet workshop full of music, inspiration, and joy!

We look forward to sharing tones together and spending unforgettable days full of clarinet music, culminating in a festive concert in a beautiful hall in the center of Prague.

WHAT AWAITS YOU:

Main workshop program:

  • Playing in the Large Clarinet Orchestra 
  • Playing in a Chamber Clarinet Ensemble
    • 2 ensembles divided according to players’ skill level
  • Fun repertoire – classical and film music
  • Public dress rehearsal – on an outdoor stage in the center of Prague – Friday 28 Aug
  • Festive concert of all participants – in chamber ensembles and orchestra – Saturday 29 Aug

Additional activities:

  • Exhibition of sheet music, instruments, and accessories
  • Jam session – we will try the basics of improvisation that absolutely anyone can handle
  • Movie and games evening – film screening – there will be popcorn too!
  • Interactive lectures on topics related to playing the clarinet
  • Photo booth
WHO THE WORKSHOP IS FOR:
      • For all enthusiastic clarinetists of any age and level
      • Students of art schools and conservatories are welcome, as well as graduates and adult enthusiasts
      • For teachers at art schools (and similar institutions)

  • Basic orientation in rhythm (eighth notes, sixteenth notes, dotted rhythm, triplet, etc.)
  • Basic ability to tune your instrument
  • Independence, communication via WhatsApp
  • Playing with the register key is NOT a requirement
  • Experience playing in a large ensemble/orchestra is NOT a requirement

Workshop instructors:

Zuzana Čajková

Zuzana Čajková studied clarinet at the Teplice Conservatory and then further expanded her education at international clarinet courses in Ostrava and Žirovnice in South Bohemia.

From 2008 to the present, she has been the principal clarinetist of the North Bohemian Opera and Ballet Theatre in Ústí nad Labem, and since 2016 she has also been a member of the North Bohemian Philharmonic Teplice. She is also a regular guest performer with other Czech orchestras such as Royal Philharmonic Prague, Chamber Opera Prague, the orchestra of the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, and others.

She gained teaching experience at the Elementary School of the Arts in Chabařovice, where she has been teaching clarinet since 2010.

Jaroslav Škuta

Jaroslav Škuta was born in 1990 in Mělník, where he began playing the clarinet at the local elementary art school at the age of 11. He studied clarinet performance at the Teplice Conservatory, the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava, and Kent State University (Ohio, US), where he also served as a Teaching Assistant from 2019 to 2020. 

From 2013 to 2018, he worked as a clarinetist in the orchestra of the North Bohemian Theatre of Opera and Ballet. He is a regular guest with Czech orchestras such as the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra, the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague, the orchestra of the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, and others.

As a performer, he also focuses on chamber music and contemporary music, regularly appearing at festivals such as Třídenní, Hudba v Souvislostech, and others.

Since 2021, he has been teaching clarinet at ZUŠ Praha 6, Nad Alejí 28. In his teaching, he emphasizes chamber and ensemble playing – he leads the Large Clarinet Ensemble of ZUŠ Nad Alejí.

He is also involved in arranging and composing pieces for beginning clarinetists and shares his materials in the Facebook group Clarinet, key, let’s play!

 In 2023, he published his first publication entitled Fun Scales.
